Hi, friends, family, and caring strangers. I’m Emily, 35 y.o., sole supporter of myself and several rescued fur babies. I’ve no family nearby and was recently admitted to the ER for a terrifying heart issue. After treatment there and many follow up appointments, I’ve been scheduled for emergency surgery to address my congenital heart condition as the meds are only temporarily treating the issue. So grateful that my medical costs are covered, but I work as an independent contractor and will be off work for weeks. This situation has already depleted my meager safety net/emergency fund, and I have found myself with no choice but to reach out to whoever is willing to help me in any small way.
