Emilys heart surgery and recovery

Emily was admitted to glens falls hospital on December 28th in labor 6 weeks early for their baby girl. They were able to slow down and stop labor so the baby has more time to grow and develop .During this process they discovered fluid in Em's lungs and around her heart. She was transferred to Albany med via ambulance on 12/29 .She was diagnosed with Mitral valve regurgitation which means the valve at the bottom of her heart is not closing and working properly allowing the fluid build up. Shes been to the doctors multiple times in the last couple months for shortness of breath and rapid heart rate but nothing was found until now .She is currently in albany med and her awesome husband is by her side and missing work .They are controlling things currently with medicine until the baby is born then she will need immediate heart surgery to fix her issue .Her recovery time in the hospital will be at least a week with 1-3 days in intensive care. Dan will need to be by her side and will miss more work and thats why we are starting this campaign for their family .Her recovery will be long and they will need as much support as they can get especially with a new one coming very very soon .
