My name is Alex, and Emily is my niece—but to me, she’s more like a sister. We grew up together, and I have loved her fiercely my whole life.

In February 2024, at just 32 years old and 26 weeks pregnant with her first child through IVF, Emily received the devastating news that she had stage four pancreatic cancer. Despite the unimaginable circumstances, Emily bravely continued fighting—not only for herself but for her sweet baby girl Nola. At 34 weeks, her daughter Nola was delivered and spent 19 days in the NICU before coming home healthy and strong.

Since then, Emily has faced this battle with courage, determination, and love for her family. She recently transitioned from chemotherapy to a clinical trial in Grand Rapids. During the time between treatments, her health has taken a difficult turn.

With increasing medical needs, procedures, and the burden of travel for treatment, Emily’s husband Dan will be taking unpaid leave to care for her and their daughter during this critical time.

Now is the time I am praying for our community to come together. Your donation will go directly toward medical expenses, travel costs for treatment, and providing financial relief so that Emily and her husband can focus on caring for each other and their daughter.
