On Sunday, November 9, 2025, I was rushed to the emergency room after major abdominal cramping, vomiting, and passing out several times. It was there that I learned my fallopian tube had ruptured due to ectopic pregnancy. I had an IUD, so I didn’t anticipate the pregnancy. By the time I found out, the approximately 8-week embryo was already gone. I was able to receive amazing medical treatment from the staff at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, NC. They acted incredibly fast and saved my life. I received emergency salpingectomy surgery (removal of my right fallopian tube). The surgeons also removed 3 liters of blood that I had lost to internal bleeding— I later learned the human body holds only 5 liters of blood. I truly almost died and can’t express how grateful I am to still be here.
I have made (almost) a full physical recovery, and I’m trying to remain persistent as I work through the significant emotional trauma of losing a child and almost losing my life. Thankfully, I had health insurance, but even still, my medical bills are more than I can manage alone. I almost didn’t go to the ER due to fear of the cost. I’m so glad that I went and got what I needed anyway.
I am shamelessly reaching out to my community to ask for support from anyone who may be willing and able to donate. Any financial support provided will go directly towards my medical bills. Thank you for reading my story and for any support you may be able to offer – financial or otherwise!
