It saddens us to announce that Emily Giust has recently been diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer.
As most of us know, Emily was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 24 in the summer of 2017. She underwent a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, as well as a reconstructive surgery. Through this incredibly difficult time and despite physical, psychological, and financial challenges, Emily always remained inspiringly strong and optimistic.
We hoped the worst was behind her, however, in January 2021, she began to experience chest and shoulder pain. After a full CT scan she learned that, not only was her cancer back, but that it has spread to her brain, bones, and liver. She has since developed a small fracture within her neck and pelvis due to the cancer which has made her day-to-day activities difficult, leaving her unable to leave her house without assistance.
Emily has started treatment with radiation and oral chemotherapy. While metastatic breast cancer can be "treatable", it is unfortunately not curable. This means she will indefinitely be on treatment to manage the spread and growth of her cancer. This fund would be a way for Emily to help pay for medications, ongoing treatments, scans, and overall daily life expenses.
If you know Emily, you know how sweet, compassionate, and a true friend she is. She has been a constant joy in so many of our lives. Now she needs our help. We can ease these financial burdens that will ultimately fall on her and let her focus more on her treatments and recovery.
Emily and her partner, Caleb, have been through so much over the past couple of years and this can be a way for us to help them in these very difficult times.
Because of how difficult this past year has been because of Covid-19, any donation will be appreciated! Please donate, share this page if you can, or simply reach out to Emily in your spare time.
Thank you so much!
