At Mbife Foundation, we believe every child deserves access to books, stories, and safe, welcoming library spaces. In The Gambia, many schools lack proper libraries, and children often have limited exposure to books outside of their classrooms. We are on a mission to change that!

Through our work, we are establishing libraries across the country, from Region 1 through Region 6, ensuring that no child is left behind when it comes to the joy of reading.

Why Libraries Matter

While students learn to read in the classroom, true literacy development happens when they are excited and motivated to explore books beyond their lessons. School and community libraries create spaces where children can discover new worlds, strengthen their reading skills, and develop a lifelong love for books.
