Dear friends, family and kind strangers,

Just over a year ago, Emily received the wonderful news that she was in remission, even celebrating her one year milestone in November. She had her sights set on reaching her two year mark at the end of this year, with the hope of ringing the symbolic bell at The Alfred Hospital. But in the past month, the goal post shifted as she received the devastating news that her leukaemia had relapsed.

Emily requires an urgent stem cell transplant, in addition to a brutal regime of intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She will be separated again from her family due to being completely immunocompromised and will have a challenging road to recovery ahead of her.

Em is an absolute ray of sunshine in this world and her positivity, strength and love have touched the lives of so many. Now, she and her family need our help to get through something they thought was behind them.

Knowing how best to support people during times like this can be difficult, but helping to alleviate the financial burden can make a deeply meaningful difference. For Em and Steve there are mounting medical bills, child care fees for their two young children and being down to one salary has made this blow feel that much heavier.
