Emily's Service Trip in Guatemala
Donation protected
Dear family and friends,
As some of you may know I am in my second year of the Dental Hygiene program at Kirkwood Community College- scheduled to graduate in May(!)
I am excited to annouce that in a few short months I will be traveling to Antigua, Guatemala through the Guatemala Service Learning & Culture Program over winter break!
During this journey I will be serving families in need by helping build a home, volunteering in a malnutrition center, visiting an orphanage, distributing food and clothing to neighboring villages, and participating in clinic health care. This experience will also give me the chance to improve my communication skills practicing the Spanish language and become absorbed in the Mayan Culture.
The total cost to study abroad is $3,100 which includes (airfare, housing, most meals, insurance, cultural events, and in-country transportation. Tuition, passport fees, and personal expenses are not included in this amount.)
I've been awarded $1000 Global Advantage Scholarship making the remaining balance for the trip $2,100.
I need your financial support to experience this life changing adventure. While helping others in need is my motivation, this venture will also grant me the chance to grow as an individual by working with others, building relationships, and learning skills that will make me a better health care professional in the future.
I am very grateful to have this opportunity and I would extremely appreciate if you can donate any amount towards my travels and my international experience. By giving a financial gift today, you will also be indirectly supporting a community and many families in need.

Thank you so much for your love and support!
