Emily is a Teacher on Special Assignment in Portland, supporting Career and Technical Educators.  She is going back to work this fall after a spring and summer dealing with her husband Brett's spinal injuries that he sustained in March during a workout at home.  Brett was in the hospital and an inpatient recovery program for over two months, and now he is at home.  He needs round the clock support and care, and their insurance does not cover enough home caregiving to allow Emily to care for him, their two boys, and have time left over to meet her high expectations of herself as an educator.  Emily and her family need the support of a caregiver as she goes back to work and Brett continues to recover at home.   They have already drained their financial resources to install assistive structures in their home and vehicle, and now they are in dire need of outside support to allow Emily to get back to work.
