Emily has recently discovered that she will need surgery to replace two valves in her heart. She has already had multiple cardiac tests and an overnight stay in the hospital. Following results of her tests and some difficulty she had even tolerating those tests, she was encouraged to have her surgery elsewhere as the local cardiac team did not feel comfortable completing it. Emily has requested a consult to Mayo for completion of her surgery there. As you can imagine, all of this news has come as a shock to the Winsor family. Emily, in her usual fashion, is most concerned with ensuring her family is taken care of and that she is not being a burden on others.  During difficult times like these, the last thing we want her to be worried about not having enough PTO for work (for surgery and potentially long recovery) or the amount of medical bills piling up.  Please help surround Emily and Ben with love and support leading up to surgery and during her recovery process.
