Emily Vlahos Disaster Relief Fund

On May 27, 2017 during a violent thunderstorm in Memphis, TN a giant tree collapsed on top of Emily Vlahos's house on Avalon in midtown with Emily, her mom, Debbie, her daughter, Addie, and her two pets, Oliver and Monkey, still inside. Miraculously none of them were injured in this catastrophe, and they all escaped unharmed and with their lives. Unfortunately, Emily's car and house was destroyed. The house is structurally unsound, meaning everything Emily ever owned is trapped inside and unable to be retrieved at this time.  

Emily did not own this house. She rented and only carried renters insurance which will not cover the total loss of her entire life. She needs to rebuild her life from scratch with no substantial help from insurance.

We are so thankful Emily, Addie, Debbie are alive today and able to rebuild their lives, but they need help to do it.

Emily is the most caring and generous woman I have ever met. She is full of love and light and she doesn't deserve this catastrophe in her life. I know anyone who has met her will know the warmth she radiates. She has been so incredibly brave in the face of what has been such a devastation in her life.

Emily is a single mother who is currently in nursing school working to improve her life, as well as working as a child care worker at Lindenwood Life Center.

Any donation you can make will help this beautiful family regain what was taken from them on the night of May 27th.

Emily is a nursing student and is especially in need of Adult 1 Nursing Books for Baptist college.
