Help Emily afford medical care

Hi my name is Emily and I’m 19 years old, I have Chiari Malformation Type 1 and other chronic illnesses. My Chiari Malformation is what affects me most, I struggle with chronic pain daily and often have to take opioids to take the edge off the pain and even when I’ve had this I still struggle to get out of bed alot of the time, I am unable to work due to my disability.

This is where I need your help, I am a candidate for Filum Terminale Sectioning surgery in the Chiari Institute of Barcelona. This is a surgery where they make an incision in my lower back and cut the filum that is causing my Chiari malformation. This could be life changing for me and help me live life like any other 18 year old, including going to work, having fun with friends and being able to drive.

Unfortunately this is expensive for the surgery alone not including travel costs or costs of scans.

I am due to go to Barcelona on the 20th of November 2024 (20/11/24) as this is quite soon I am having to make a gofundme as i am just not able to fund this on my own. I would be so grateful to anyone who is willing to donate, I appreciate your kindness so much, it means the absolute world to me.
