Emily Paramo has worked at the McDonalds in Independence, Oregon for 15 years.  She is a reliable and dependable worker loved by her customers and others on her McDonalds team.  She is a mother of three children ages 12, 10 and 4 of whom she is the sole provider.  She didn't show up for work on Sunday January 19th.  When the restaurant called Emily's Mother, she investigated and found out that Emily had been attacked by the father of her children and beaten nearly to death.  Emily says she would have given up but she thought of her children and fought to stay alive.  She was taken to the hospital where she found out that the beating around her head left her with a shattered nose (for which she has since had surgery to repair it), and she needed 17 staples to close the wounds on her head.  She also had a broken thumb and two fractured vertebrae.  We are asking for money to help Emily get back on her feet.  She will not be able to return to work for at least 5 more weeks so she will need money to live on.  She obviously needs to get herself set up in a new home situation so she will need money for that.  Finally, she will have extra medical expenses for which she will need some help.
