Emily Papa Cancer fundraiser

Emily Papa has struggled for a long time now. She fought 3 months to get a diagnosis. Between eye doctors, medical doctors and several trips to the emergency room, they finally discovered a mass was behind her eye and it was pushing her eye out of the socket. By this time she had become blind in that eye. Emergency flighted to Salt Lake, she had test after test done, confirming our worst fears. Emily has cancer. This cancer is highly aggressive and rare. The salt lake hospital has only seen 5 cases. At first they thought maybe they could remove the mass and she could regain eye sight. At this point it is not an option. She is in Salt Lake doing experimental chemotherapy fighting for her life. The cancer is in her sinuses as well. They hope to be able to shrink the masses, perform the surgery, and get her into remission. Obviously, she is far far away from home, alone, and without an income.

So many of us know Emily as a teacher, supportive friend, and an absolute fighter. Just as she has supported us when and how she could, I'm hoping we can rally for her. I'll post updates as I get them!
