Our story
Emily began running a high fever Tuesday September 19th. The following Saturday she improved enough to eat and drink small amounts. That night she vomited and we now know she aspirated on her seizure meds.
Sunday afternoon she went to the emergency room by ambulance and was diagnosed with sepsis due to aspiration pneumonia and a urinary tract infection. She was admitted to the hospital and on Tuesday, September 28th, she required intubation because she was no longer able to breathe on her own. We were transferred to Children’s Hospital in Texas that night where she remains on a ventilator. She continues to receive excellent care.
Our hospital stay is extended due to her medical complexities and the severity of the pneumonia.
Today is Hospital day 12
Expenses are accumulating. Any help is appreciated.
