Let’s help our Em heal!

To know her is to love her. We know how many people absolutely adore Emily, so sharing her story and reaching out with ways to help just seemed like the right thing to do!

 

A couple of months ago, Emily was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma (thyroid cancer). Although this cancer is fairly easy to treat, it has still come with hardships and setbacks as any cancer diagnosis would. She had surgery on November 1st to remove the mass. Unfortunately, they had to work extremely close to an artery in order to remove 40 affected lymph nodes. This caused the Dr. to hit and damage a major nerve — and now the right size of her face has been temporarily paralyzed. Emily’s smile can light up a room, her favorite thing to do is laugh. This, along with vocal chord issues and losing some hair from unbalanced medication - has caused a little bit of a toll on her mental health. This is hard to witness as she is a Positive Polly 99% of time in life! Surgery is behind her, but she still will be needing radiation within the next 6 weeks which will also be very hard. With time, she will be back to her whole, bubbly self. But we need to help her, we need to carry our friend that we love so much! After all, she would do the same for us at a drop of a hat. Emily and Jon never got to go on a honeymoon, and after all that they’ve been through/are going through - they deserve a dreamy vacation when this is all over with.

 

No one deserves this. But if you know Emily, you know she deserves the world. She’s strong, she’s resilient, she’s thoughtful & caring. She’s never met a stranger, she’s warm & loving. She is an amazing mother, wife, friend & daughter. She’s just one of those once in a lifetime type of people that you feel lucky to know.
