let’s help Emily get back on her feet
On Sunday, January 27, 2019, our colleague and friend, Emily Ann Deslauriers (Briefings Coordinator) was hurt when the horse she was working with reared and came crashing down on her, breaking her pelvis in two places. She was alone in the barn when it happened :(
On Monday, she underwent extensive surgery (that went well); however, she will be off work - and off her feet - for a while.
She will likely need hospital equipment for her convalescence at home. Employment Insurance and Long Term Disability could take weeks to kick in and won't provide for her full salary.
As her friends and colleagues, this GoFundMe initiative is to allow her to focus on healing.
