Emily Granath's Memorial Fund
Donation protected
In the early evening of December 11, 2020, Emily suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to Northside Hospital Forsyth's emergency room. Her heart stopped several more times over the next 24 hours. What caused Emily's cardiac arrest was long QT syndrome, a heart-rhythm disorder, that we did not know Emily had. Over the next three-and-a-half weeks numerous ICU doctors, neurologists, and nurses at Northside watched over Emily and did everything they could for her. Unfortunately, however, she suffered irreparable and severe brain damage as a result of her cardiac arrests. Emily was moved to hospice care a few days ago. Her current nurses and doctors are keeping Emily comfortable and peaceful before she passes away naturally.
The outpouring of support from Emily's family, friends, co-workers, and others has been tremendous over the past month. We wanted to setup this Go Fund Me for Emily based on several that expressed interest in making a donation to Emily directly. Donations from this Go Fund Me page will go towards Emily's medical bills, end-of-life care, and memorial service. Any funds leftover after these expenses will go towards the Atlanta Humane Society, an organization that is especially dear to Emily and my heart since we got both of our dogs (Bowie and Marshall) there.
If you prefer to make a donation directly to charity, you can donate to the Atlanta Humane Society at this link in honor of Emily.

Thanks again to everyone for the love and support.
