Emily & Esteban: Stolen Celebration
Donation protected
Emily, a nurse and Air Force veteran, and Esteban, a State Trooper, have spent a lot of time apart due to the nature of their jobs...finally they have reached a point in their lives where they can be together! They have planned and paid for a beautiful ceremony and reception to celebrate their love which is set to take place in just about a month. Emily and Esteban were all set to enjoy their final few weeks of engagement they hired a wedding planning company to handle all of the vendors. This included beverages, food, linens, and a DJ.
This past week their dream wedding that they had worked so hard to make come to a reality all came to a screeching halt. First, the following story was reported by KPRC..."Wedding planner goes missing with couples $10,000 marriage fund". The couple in the story was not Emily and Esteban so I messaged her to ask if they had used that company also? Unfortunately, Emily’s answer was "yes". Immediately my heart sank. Next, they received a letter from the company that read:
"Hand in Hand Wedding & Events, LLC is closing for business due to going bankrupt. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. There are no funds remaining for refunds or reimbursements of any kind."
Inconvenience? No Funds? This company was irresponsible with their management of other people’s money and has subsequently walked away. Leaving this hard-working couple $10,000 in the hole for a wedding set to take place in about a month. (I have set the goal for half of this amount.)
Side note: The venue has been paid for and is non-refundable. (If you're anything like me you may have thought 'I would just go to the court house'...this is not really an option because they would be losing even more to walk away from the venue.)
It is one thing to pay for your dream wedding once. It's another thing to have that money STOLEN by an irresponsible company and race to come up with the money a second time a month before the BIG day! Let's not let all of their hardwork, overtime, and time apart be for nothing. Any little bit helps, please give what you can to help off set the cost of a real life nightmare.
Let's turn this nightmare into a Happily Ever After!
-Thank you!
