My daughter Emily died unexpectedly at 31 on July 5, 2022. She was a literacy teacher for most of her career and was passionate about getting young children culturally diverse books that they could relate to. Emily believed each child deserved literacy education at an early age for success. She inspired them to build their skills while developing a life-long love of reading.

My goal is to raise funds to purchase culturally diverse books to donate to local underserved children in schools and through the Reach Out and Read Program at Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong Pediatric Practice. Emily purchased so many herself and would love to see the children find one that allowed them to connect with the story.
