This beautiful young lady was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a pediatric brain cancer, in September 2020, the same time our daughter Natalie was diagnosed with the same cancer. After brain surgery, 6 weeks of radiation and a year of chemotherapy Emily was declared NED( No Evidence of Disease). One year after the end of treatment, on an MRI done every 3 months, a spot appeared on her spine. Three weeks later, after surgery on December 26th, the family received devastating news, the cancer is back and wrapped around a spinal nerve. Not only will she need physical therapy for her right leg, she will need another year of chemotherapy. Unlike, the first chemo, that was a 2 day stay in the hospital every 42 days, she will need chemo for 5 days outpatient every other week for 1 year at a hospital 4 hours from their home. As if the diagnosis itself isn’t devastating, Emily is so distraught that she will have to be away from her home and family every other week she does not want to do the treatment. So I started this Go Fund Me for her and her family in the hopes that we could raise some money so they could possibly rent an apartment or an extended stay hotel to make their life a little more comfortable while they are on this journey. Not to mention Emily’s mom, Beth, just recently went back to work, and now she will have to leave her job again.
