Emily Corrigan’s fundraiser #positivitee

Emily’s story,

32 year old Emily Corrigan, a mother of four from Bushey, Hertfordshire, has been battling brain tumours for the past four years.

Before her diagnosis, Emily had been suffering from headaches, but put these down to the stresses and strains of life as the mother of four young children (now aged 12, 8, 7 & 7).

Then one night in July 2015, Emily was found by her partner Stewart in the grips of a severe seizure. She was rushed to hospital and put into a coma before undergoing an operation to remove the tumour, which was estimated to have been growing undetected for between 7 and 10 years.

The operation was a success and Emily recovered in time to see her second child start school and her twin girls go to nursery; eventually returning to work and enjoying life with her young family, whilst also working hard to raise awareness of the current lack of funding for brain cancer research in the UK.

In October 2018, at one of her regular check-ups, Emily was given the devastating news that new growths had been found in her brain.

Surgery was scheduled for January of this year but, three days before it was to take place, Emily was found lying on the floor of her bathroom by her eldest son, having suffered a seizure. He dealt with the situation with a composure beyond his years, calling an ambulance and calming his younger siblings.

The operation subsequently went ahead and Emily has since undergone 30 sessions of radiotherapy.

She will start a course of chemotherapy in July 2019.


 As her close friends we want to help Emily find some ease with her treatment and give her a break through these hard times, where she can focus on her family and spend those precious moments together.
