When you think things couldn’t get any worse, her beloved fur baby Daisy aka Dink crossed the rainbow bridge today. 11-6-23

For the past 20+ years, my dear friend Emily Cardwell has been fighting 4 rare auto immune diseases, NSIP - Nonspecific Interstitial pneumonitis along with other chronic conditions. Where all these conditions are painful and debilitating she now is in right sided heart failure, where she has gained 40lbs in water weight along with pitting edema. Emily also has very limited mobility due to all these conditions.

Her conditions have unfortunately reached an agonizing point due to the nature of the American Healthcare system being generally unhelpful in terms of giving her any assistance with finding care. Therefore, she has made the incredibly difficult decision to enter into hospice care at home.

Emily is single and doesn’t have much of a support system, she has a very limited income in order to pay all of her bills and most importantly any end of life comfort measures.

Emily wants to spend this time navigating the challenges of hospice care in a way that allows her to spend as much time as possible with us and ensure she is comfortable and not in any pain.

The funds donated here will be used for emily’s monthly bills as well as medical supplies, and any other expenses that arise due to her care or any emergencies that may occur.

Emily also may potentially use any of these funds for services once my she passes as she has exhausted her savings and currently would not be able to afford to plan a funeral.

Emily has been fighting for an incredibly long time and has been extremely strong, and she deserves to live in comfort for however long she has left. Any amount would be appreciated.
