“Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

On March 4, 2019, after a colonoscopy, Emily was diagnosed with Colorectal Cancer. Dr. Carles Surles, Jr. sent her to West Cancer Center in Memphis, to have a consultation with Dr. Carmel Verrier, a leading Medical Oncologist.  More information was required to pinpoint the best form of treatment she would need. She was sent to have an MRI, and then to Dr. Joshua Katz, a highly regarded Colon and Rectal Surgeon. He discovered that the tumor was approximately 4 centimeters in size and into the T4 level, quantifying Emily as Stage III.  It was not recommended that she have surgery, at this time, as the mass is too large and must require chemotherapy for 12 sessions, attending every two weeks.  Next, Dr. Noam Vanderwalde will administer simultaneous Radiation and Chemotherapy for six weeks, having treatment five days a week, Monday through Friday. Once this phase of treatment is complete, she will have a period to recuperate and then have surgery to remove what is left of the tumor. Her team of doctors have one goal-to CURE Emily.

We will need these funds to begin filtering in as soon as possible. They will help to offset her financial obligation and have peace of mind during her treatments. All of her earned income is to pay current bills, with little to no surplus. We want her to be able to focus on living, as that is her goal!  We are asking that you search your heart and may God Bless every intention.
