In May of 2021, Emily was diagnosed with epilepsy after experiencing many seizures. The tumor is on Emily’s right temporal lobe, which is causing her seizures. Emily is having a very invasive surgery to have the tumor removed and to help prevent her from having seizures. Once the tumor is surgically removed, we will find out if it is benign or malignant to see if further treatment is needed.

Her surgery is scheduled for 1/18/22, with a week of recovery at the Mayo Clinic, and 9 more weeks of recovery at home, possibly longer depending on how quickly her body heals.

Anyone that has met Emily knows how precious of a human being she is, there aren’t enough words in any language to describe how wonderful she is. To know her, is to love her.

Emily is a full time hairdresser helping to support a family of five. She will be unpaid during her medical leave of absence.
