Emily and James's Stolen Vehicle
Donation protected
Emily and James are among the most caring and generous people I've ever met. They would do anything for a friend in need. It deeply saddens me that anyone could do harm to their family.
On the evening of December 7th, 2016, someone broke into their property and into their garage, stole their car, and crashed and totaled it about 20 miles away from their home. The thief fled the scene, but took with them the family's tablet, their son's car seat, and a brand new pair of shoes for their youngest son. Unfortunately, they only had liability insurance, so this is a total loss to them.
Emily, James, and their 2 sons moved to central Maui just a few short months ago from Wisconsin, taking only necessities with them. They live remotely and it is necessary to have a vehicle to work and to live. This was over a $5,000 loss to them, and will increase as they are unable to work without a new vehicle.
I hope to see their friends, near and far, pitch in to help them through this and make the holiday season a little better. I have set the goal amount at $5,000, but with fees and loss of income, any additional would be appreciated. Maui friends, if you are able to, please offer a ride to the market or grocery store, or in search for a new vehicle.
Even a small amount helps. Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
