Meet Emily and Don.

This is their story about wanting to have a family!

Emily has always seen herself as being a mom and having a family, but after 2 miscarriages and trying for 3 years this journey has been emotional, physically and financially disappointing. After trying to conceive on their own they sought treatment from a fertility doctor. Emily found out in the beginning  after the miscarriages that her hormones were off and that in fact,  she was premenopausal, which would be a challenge for her to conceive. Emily and her husband, Don, began the journey as many do, to try and conceive in other ways. Emily started doing hormone injections, which was painful and uncomfortable, so she could start the IUI process. After 5 failed attempts of IUI’s  Emily and Don decided to hold off for a while. It has been very much a financial struggle for them. Emily felt that her body has failed her for so many years.
So with that, the discussion began recently about other options such as IVF and found out that her sister is a very strong match and has healthy eggs to donate. Emily and Don were overjoyed with the possibility again of having a baby. Soon they realized this would be a very expensive process as insurance does not cover any treatments. This is where we come in ! Emily’s work family, friends, extended family, and maybe even strangers can help make this a possibility for them. No amount is too small......
