Emily is a short horror thriller, written and directed by Lily Paris (Avicennia Films) and produced by Sam Rooke (Psychic Visions). The film is currently in development, and we are looking to raise funds to support production.

Guilt-ridden Michael seeks out a mysterious temple to bring back the girl he once knew. Following the steps of an old ritual, Michael goes to find The Threshold of Ever, where he is granted passage into an eerie space between death and beyond. There, he reunites with Emily, and seeks to bring her back.

Emily is inspired by films such as Lingua Franca (2019), Bring Her Back (2025), and A Dark Song (2016).

Set against the vast, gloomy backdrop of the Norfolk broads, Emily is a trans horror story about control, abuse, regret and peace. Stuck in limbo, Emily seeks to reclaim her name, her body, and her life. This project seeks to tell a horror story of resurrection and reclamation, written, directed, and produced by trans people. Our crew and cast features local talent and aims to connect local filmmakers with a love for supernatural horror and indie cinema.

Led by DoP Tristan Pollitt of Psychic Visions, Emily is set to shoot in Summer 2026, in and around Norwich and Norfolk.

Our fundraiser aims to raise money to cover various production costs including equipment, production design, catering, location cover, travel, and our festival run.

Any bit helps, so if you're interested in making this happen, consider donating and sharing with anyone you think would be interested! Names of our donors will be included in film credits. For other ways to help us fundraise, keep an eye on our socials.

ABOUT PSYCHIC VISIONS

Psychic Visions is a film production and freelance media collective made up of Norwich-based filmmakers Sam Rooke, Caitlin Faulkner, Tristan Pollitt, Lux Baker, Josh Lingwood and Eleanor Lewis. As UEA graduates that met through Unthank Productions, their experience covers various aspects of the filmmaking process, marketing, and events production.

Since 2021, we’ve worked local events including drag shows, burlesque, cabaret, variety shows, fundraisers, and more. Our event experience has extended into producing our very own short film festival in Norwich, The Anthology: A Collection of Indie Film Oddities, and collaborating with QueerFest on the film side of their annual festival.

In addition to our freelance work, we write and produce creative works from narrative films to documentary, and are focused on working with and platforming queer, trans and global majority creatives, students and graduates, charities, independent groups and small businesses.

Founded in 2021 by Sam Rooke, Psychic Visions as a collective has been active since October 2022, following their collaboration on Witches of the Waste (2022). Since, their other work has included their first indie feature film Lesbian Vampires from Outer Space (2024) and Ben Again (2024). Upcoming projects include After the Light, Jam Jar, The Infinity Channel, What’s Up With Isabelle Birch?, and co-productions The Dying Knight (with Final Frame Cinema) and All That Is Solid Melts Into Air (with Chudatsi and Darcy Dear).
