Emilia James - Recovery Support

Donation protected
Just after her first birthday, Emilia James Masciantonio was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.  In an instant, this beautiful, smiley, and innocent baby girl's life was turned upside down.  Through two neurosurgeries, a large piece of the tumor has been removed and she is currently able to enjoy the company of her parents and family.  Unfortunately, she is left with a very difficult path ahead.

Emilia is suffering from an atypical rhomboid tumor (ATRT), a rare genetic form of brain cancer.  It is unlikely to be cured, but the hope is that she can obtain some level of remission through intensive chemotherapy, radiation, and stem cell treatments.  She is fortunate to have the loving support and strength of her family and friends as well as an amazing team of health care professionals from the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Her parents, Casey and Phil Masciantonio, have already been touched by the outreach of their family, friends, and community.  Going forward we know that they will continue to need further support as they put work and other responsibilities to the side in order to shepherd Emilia through this difficult time.  Our hope is that these funds will help them to focus on what is important right now, Emilia and her recovery.

They will be donating all additional proceeds not needed in Emilia's care to cureatrt.org.
