Nurse Emie’s Recovery

Most people have probably looked back in their memories to try to remember the first time they heard of a strange new virus in a far away country. Fast forward to today and Covid19 not only has a name but it has a reputation. For our hospital's medical unit it became personal when our co-worker and Registered Nurse Emie Rimot was intubated on March 31. Emie is kind, hard-working with a dry sense of humor. She has been working two jobs as a nurse, at our hospital for 17 years, the other for 25. When asked recently why at her age she works so many hours, she answered with a laugh, "Because I have a mortgage to pay!" Sadly, Emie's longtime roommate is unable to visit and all her family lives either in the Philippines or on the East Coast. Even if they were able to travel here, they would not be able to see Emie because of hospital regulations. They are worried that when Emie wakes up, she might not be able to go back to work, at least not for a long time. On behalf of the  Medical Unit, we are asking first, please be praying for Emie. Pray for discernment for the doctors to know the best way to treat her. Second, if you are able, we are asking for donations to help offset medical expenses as well as help pay necessary bills while she recovers. Thank you so much!
