EMIE IS FIGHTING THE FIGHT OF HER LIFE RIGHT NOW!

Hello everyone, Emilee is fighting so hard right now!

Emilee had a stroke on July 31st. She spent time in the hospital & rehabilitation at Methodist. Then discharged continuing Occupational Therapy & Physical Therapy. Emilee was working hard to get stronger. She was plaining on going back to work & her routine.

She started to feel weak again so we brought her to the ER and there they diagnosed her with a UTI. We brought her back home and started her on antibiotics. The next day she felt horrible so Matt brought her to Methodist. Unfortunately, she waited in the ER for 6 hours while telling them several times she was having a stroke.

Matt & Mallorie also mentioned it to the ER staff. After they called her back to be seen, they found that she did have another stroke.

As a family, we were all seeking answers, so we wanted to get a second opinion. She was taken to Iowa city. They found that Emilee did have a stroke but also several TI (ischemic) strokes! They did cat scans, MRIs, they took a blood vessel from her leg along with many many many other tests! We finally got some possible things it could be. They said possible Antiphospholipid Syndrome (Lupis) and Vasculitis. However, even her symptoms dont match 'perfectly' for those disorders. They put her on blood thinner (Heparin) and strong steroid. Yesterday Emilee stopped responding to basic questions & movement tests. She was rushed into the ICU were they found she had another stroke with a seizure. At 330am they put her on a ventilator to make sure her air way was protected. They also did a pickline in her neck to filter her blood and replace it with donated plasma. Her temperature is 105.4, but they started cooling efforts with ice packs and cooling blankets. Shes fighting her hardest right now.
