Emery’s Gift

As you guys knows we lost our daughter, Emery Nicole Rekully on May 31, 2018, at 9:42pm. It’s been a whirlwind since that day and seems like it’s been a bad dream. There’s not much attention given to stillbirths and quite frankly we were not aware of the shocking ratio of 1 in 4 births result in a infant pregnancy loss or stillbirth. Alie and I have discussed on how we can help other families going through this unfortunate experience. We delivered at St Joseph’s Women’s (SJW) hospital and we cannot say enough positive things about SJW hospital. We delivered all three of our kids there and had a great experience each and every time. With the delivery of Emery the hospital staff from top to bottom was top notch. I cannot stress the positive experience we had there and how they help us prepare for the worst day of our lives. After giving birth to Emery we were allowed to bring her to our room and spend the only time with her we knew we could. Although we spent fourteen hours with our sweet little girl (Nathan had graduation) we both felt that was not enough. After researching different ways on how we can help other families, we came across the CuddleCot. The CuddleCot gives parents more time to grieve and also spend more time with their baby. It keeps the the baby cool and prevents the body from deteriorating which will allow parents to spend as much time with their baby as needed. After researching about the CuddleCot and reaching out to SJW hospital it was a no brainer on how the CuddleCot would help future families. SJW hospital is willingly to accept and use the CuddleCot as s gift from us in honor of Emery to help future families. Alie and I understand the importance of spending the only time with your baby and the CuddleCot will help families spend more precious time with theirs. October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss month and our goal is to donate one by the end of October.
