Emery's T1D Army

This is Emery She is very special to us. She is Strong and has over come a lot in her 3 years. She has had to put up a fight from before she was born.   Emery was dignosed with a beautiful extra 21st Chromosome. Also know as Down Syndrome 8 days after she was born. With low musle tone come more challenges. She has to put in extra work and effort in everythings she does. She does it all well. Big thank you to the great therapists that pushed her and tought her, and also teaching her parents! 
 
The reason we are here is because she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes a year ago on February 19 2018. She was in DKA and her blood sugars rose to 909. She ended up being air lifted to the Childrens Hospital in Plano TX, and they treated her in the PICU. 

Diabetes is hard to understand hard to live with. She is insulin depended. Type 1 Diabetes means her pancreas can't make insulin. She recieves 4 insulin shots a day. The amount varys on what she eats. High blood sugars are damaging to the organs and nerves. Low blood sugars can cause seizures or can be fatal. Everything can trigger lows or high sugras. When she is growing, not feeling well, out of her comfort zone even weather change. She does not talk like a typical 3 will so she can't tell me how she feels. She always tries so hard to hide her pain when she  gets hurt. We try our best to read her.

The mom in me and through a lot of prayer  knew there had to be something I could help my daughter better. With Gods leading we are in contact with a Doctor in Florida.  He has full hope to get her off insulin. He is not associated with any insurance, and that lead us to come here. We all go thorugh seasons some can give and some can't. We fully understand stand that. You can help us in prayer also!!! We serve a mighty God. A Good God. He will hear your prayers.
