UPDATE:
Dear family, friends, friends of family, friends of friends, and kind strangers, We wanted to update you on our progress since losing our home and belongings. Thanks to so much generosity and compassion, we were able to move into an apartment that is in a quiet and safe area.
We were able to secure rent for several months and purchase furnishings, clothes, household items, etc. We want to express our deep gratitude for the donations of clothes, lodging, food, laughter, furniture,
gift cards, time, art, uplifting conversations, and monetary funds. These gifts helped us get through the shock, trauma, and grief of losing everything, more than you know. It has been incredibly inspiring
and comforting to feel the goodness in humanity after such a devastating experience. We are healing and rebuilding and starting to feel a sense of normalcy. Thank you all so very much. Sending love, light, and peace.
Emerson and Maya
Dear friends, family and kind-hearted supporters,
I'm writing to ask for help for my Godson Emerson and his girlfriend Maya, who are facing a life-altering event. On May 4th 2025 they're rented home was destroyed in a fire intentionally set by a dangerous and erratic neighbor. Thankfully, they weren't home at the time, but the house is now uninhabitable, their belongings are damaged and they've been displaced with nowhere to return.
This tragedy comes less than 2 years after another traumatic event. In July 2023, Emerson and Maya were caught in a crossfire of a police incident - the result of a violent offender- totaling Emerson's car. Though they were innocent bystanders, the experience left them deeply shaken and took a serious toll on their physical and emotional well-being.
They had just begun to heal when this fire turned their world upside down once again.
We're raising funds to help Emerson and Maya secure safe housing and find some stability during this incredibly difficult time. Any amount helps - and if you're unable to donate please consider sharing their story.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion.
With gratitude, Tracey
