As many of you know, Emerie suffered a hypoxic brain injury at birth. She has since been diagnosed with several other disorders including cerebral palsy. As parents, we want to do everything we can to help Emerie reach her full potential, whatever that may look like. In addition to traditional therapies, we have recently been introduced to an alternative type of therapy called the Anat Baniel Method (ABM). This therapy focuses on building connections in the brain through slow, varied movements as well as responding to Emerie's cues and responses. We have seen amazing things from this therapy. During our first weekend session, Emerie scooted on her back across the therapy table. This is the most gross motor movement she had ever done! Alternative therapies such as ABM are expensive and not covered by insurance. We hope to be able to raise enough money for a year of ABM therapy for Emerie. We are excited by her progress and hope that this will be another tool to help her in all aspects. We appreciate your love and support of our family and our girl!
