9/11/24 Update: Danielle went to the Bradford Animal Clinic today to discuss the upcoming surgeries for the kittens with the bad eyes. The first kitten will have this LIFE SAVING surgery tomorrow morning! We have enough right now for her surgery. We are so humbled that our community has rallied so hard for these babies!!! We NEED TO KEEP THIS GOING! We need enough for another eye removal surgery for the second kitten. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE continue to share and or donate, even 5$ helps get these babies the life saving surgery’s they need. We also need Kitty litter, litter boxes and cat trees! Cat toys too for the kittens to continue to develop until they are ready for adoption. You can message me and I will meet you to pick up donations! Danielle is working very hard to show these kittens what love is! They are starting to snuggle and purr with her!
9/9/23 Update: The surgeries for both kittens needing eye surgery are set for next week. We are still needing help with funding! We were quoted between $1400-$2,000 (for both). Please please please consider donating or sharing! We are waiting to hear back on quotes for spay/neuter. We know times are tough but we have committed to follow through with this.
9/8/23 Update: Please continue to share or donate if you can! The cats will NOT be going to the Humane Society. Because of the trauma they have already experienced, Danielle has graciously decided to foster them all at her home. The multiple changes in environment and the thought of not being involved with ensuring their placement in a suitable home was beginning to cause us some anxiety! Because of this, donations are needed more than ever! Danielle is working with The Bradford Animal Clinic for quotes on the necessary eye removal surgery for two of the kittens. We are also looking for donations of blankets, kitten and cat food, litter, and if anyone has old/used cat trees. Thanks again!!!
9/7/23 Update: Danielles Vet treated the babies for fleas and with antibiotics for probable infections. Two of the kittens will probably each need an eye removed. They are slowly starting to trust and eating kitten food. The person who willingly relinquished the Cats visited Danielle today. Thanking her for her generosity. What initially started as a frail elderly person trying to feed a few strays turned into a situation that was no longer manageable. We’re talking about an individual who could barely feed themself but was attempting to feed cats that weren’t even theirs. ❤️
Update: Danielles Vet is personally going to her house tomorrow to start treating these sweet sweet babies!
Hi friends!
I’m helping my friend Danielle Graves who is heroically rescuing several cats and kittens from a horrible situation and need emergent Vet care, food and housing. A few days ago, Danielle and her daughter rescued what is believed to be a 4-5 week old malnourished kitten found in the middle of the road. Days later she found two more kittens, one deceased near where she found the first one. Being an animal lover, she searched the surrounding area where she found at minimum another 15 cats and another litter of kittens that look to be only 2-3 weeks old. The condition of their living situation is deplorable. Luckily, Danielle was able to convince the owner to relinquish the cats to her care. Danielle is working with Central VT Humane Society to find emergent housing and medical care. Tonight, she was able to capture several more cats in deplorable health, eyes sealed shut with infection. She has turned a part of her home into a temporary home for the cats, purchased food, formula, litter boxes etc. Tomorrow her goal to catch the remaining cats. Vet bills and care are not going to be cheap. We know times are hard and many people are struggling to survive. But ALL animals deserve a fighting chance. All proceeds will be used to treat, house and rehome these sweet fur babies! If you can’t afford to donate funds, please consider donating much needed cat food and litter. Any funds not used for Veterinary care will be donated to the Central VT Humane Society to support taking on these sweet little babies! Danielle wants everyone to know, even after all these poor little things have been through, they are sweet and affectionate. Please consider donating and or adopting one of these littles when they are ready.
