Emergent medical for Dinah

EMERGENT HELP NEEDED PLEASE!!

Dinah is the sweetest, gentle dog you can ever encounter. She’s Madison’s everything, she has been part of 4H since she was a puppy, earning multiple titles and certified recently as a therapy dog so Madison could donate time with the library in the “Read with a therapy dog” and had contacts set in place with nursing homes to bring joy to people’s lives. My children’s lives revolve around their family members, and right now Dinah is hanging on by a very thin thread. Please anything you can do to help. We need it, desperately. Craig and I are always the first to help anyway we can, and my kids included. If you’re more comfortable donating directly to Port City Vet or Mass Vet Referral in Woburn any little bit helps.

Dinah, Madison’s cream golden, has been battling ear infections and been to the vet for the goop in the ear several times. Usually the right ear- on January 1st we woke up to Dinah’s face being completely swollen. Ran up right away to port city in NH and they gave her an inanflamatory injection (dexamethasone), put her on a 10 day course of antibiotics (clavamox) and said to give 3 benydryl morning and night for 3 days. Swelling went down after a couple days. They didn’t have a diagnoisis or explanation on why it happened then. Over the course of last couple days swelling slowly crept up, started benydryl again and though not really hungry was due to the clavamox making her icky feeling. Yesterday she really was sad looking. Something didn’t sit right with me and really not interested in even cookies, which if you know Dinah, milk bones are her favorite . I brought her into Newburyport Vet Clinic who said inner ear infection still there, and very swollen and gave her new goop, sent out for type of ear bacteria, ran labs, did X-rays, had a very low grade fever and had a ton of injections- cerebra, famotidine, carprofen, and enrofloxacin to jump start her feeling better. She also was diagnosed with Bells palsy on her right side with ear infection. We were then sent home with enrofloxacin tablets and cerenia tablets and eye gel for her right side as her blinking is not up to par
To keep her eye hydrated safely. Also did X-rays while there and say her uterus slightly swollen but where she is in her cycle it can be explained.

This morning the girls woke up to her unresponsive, and unable to get up. Breathing heavily. I called port city immediately and said we were on our way. While on the phone she experienced a seizure while holding her. She lost control of her bowels as well.
Got her up to port city and they are just trying to stabilize her. Like that is where they are focusing. They have iv antibiotics flowing with the idea that she has a brain infection from the ear infection. They are also doing ultrasounds and more X-rays on abdomen. IF we can stabilize her enough they want to transport her to the neurologist at mass vet in Woburn. They have a 9am with Dr Riggs IF we can transport.

Port City just called: abdomen scans are clear. They are adding Clindomicin and sodromedoral. Comparing her blood work from last night and just now, her globulin went from 4.3 to 4.6 and her WBC went from 26,000 to 38,000

They are estimating 7-10k for mass vet and we are already over $5,000 since January 1st. We need help.

We are happy to sell wire trees madison has made it any of my canning items for immediate pickup in Salisbury.
