We have a Palestinian student from Gaza who is now living in Regina, Saskatchewan. He left behind his parents, relatives, and loved ones, who remain in Gaza and are struggling every day just to survive.

Winter has arrived in Gaza, making an already unbearable situation even more devastating. His parents lost both their home and the small business they had built due to the war, leaving them without permanent shelter. Every night, there is fear for their safety and uncertainty about whether they will survive another day.

Recent storms have flooded many of the makeshift tents, leaving families soaked, freezing, and completely exposed to the elements. Tragically, nine people, including children, have already lost their lives due to hypothermia because they lacked proper shelter. This is a constant fear for his family and many others living in similar conditions.

As he is new to Regina and has no established contacts, he reached out for help, unable to carry this burden alone. This fundraiser aims to provide essential winter necessities to families in Gaza. These are not comforts, they are basic necessities that could mean the difference between life and death during the freezing nights.

I am working alongside community members in Regina to share this message and ensure that the assistance reaches his family and relatives directly. Asking for help is never easy, but we are doing so because people are struggling not only for food, but also for warmth, safety, and survival.
