Emergency Water Relief for Madina
0% complete
$5,252 raised of

Emergency El Niño relief: 640 households in New Ireland have run out of water.
Our beautiful Madina community in New Ireland, Papua New Guinea has had no rain for months, there have been constant fires, family homes have burnt down along with community gardens.
Local water sources have dried up forcing people to walk long distances to fill containers with drinking water and carry back home. We cannot wait for Government relief to trickle down, we need to take action.
FUNDS RAISED WILL GO TOWARDS
Water Tanks
- Installing large water tanks to be prepared when the brief rain comes so we can save every drop
Ground Water Wells
- Constructing ground water wells to secure sustainable access to fresh water
Emergency Clean Water Transportation
- Hiring local trucks and buying fuel to transport clean drinking water to Madina's distribution points
Medical Supplies
- Respiratory masks
- Saline eye drops
- Rehydration solutions
- Pain relief medicine
- Asthma puffers
- Malaria medication
Emergency food rations
- Buying bulk supplies of rice and tinned fish to distribute directly to families.
Climate Change is Now
It is unfair that our sustainable Indigenous Nalik community is paying the price for global emissions. We emit almost zero carbon, yet our people are falling sick, our sacred bodies of water have dried up and our food gardens have burnt because of global climate change.
Even a small donation can go towards the fuel needed to drive clean water back home to quench thirst, cook and wash.
Thank you for your time and consideration. If you are unable to make a donation, please share this go fund me.
On behalf of the Madina Community,
Thank you for standing with us!
