While spreading mulch and pulling weeds at the Richmond Greenway for Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service, a group of volunteers came across Princess, a sweet and playful 1 year old pup. She stayed close by for a couple hours, keeping volunteers and community members company. She disappeared for an hour or so and then reappeared with a severe wound on her side that required emergency surgery. She was taken to a 24 hour emergency vet, where it was confirmed that she needed to be admitted for surgery and given antibiotics and painkillers. The cost of the care was unexpected and high, but it was important to get Princess care so she could go home to her family. Any help to cover the costs of veterinary care would be so appreciated!
