Emergency Vet Funds to Help Save Dobby
Donation protected
I am desperately reaching out in this way as a last ditch effort to save my cat, Dobby. He is 12 years old and the sweetest cat you could ever meet.
Some days ago he stopped eating and started having issues vomiting. We rushed him to the vet but they believed the issue was too serious for their technical, in-house capabilities so they sent us to an emergency animal hospital. There they said it could be a serious blockage in his stomach or intestines and laid out a list of recommended treatments. The bill totaled a little over $3000 in all, and around $1200 just for just diagnostic work. They asked for the money up front before any treatments could begin, but we had nowhere near this amount and had to leave with minimal relief for Dobby.
My family is struggling as is and do not have the funds to pay the high costs of treatment. My husband and I could not qualify for the only available payment plans the hospital offered. I emptied my savings account just to be able to afford IV fluids, basic bloodwork and some take home pain medicine to keep him comfortable. We still don't even know what the specific issue is as we can no longer afford to take him anywhere.
I want to hold out hope that my boy can get better, he has been a happy and healthy cat these 12 years. Time is of the essence, I appreciate any and all generosity.
Thank you so much for listening,
B.D.
