Emergency vet for my sweet Polly

Hi, my name is Jordan. I’m 26 living in Brooklyn and last week my sweet cat started vomiting incessantly. In her last vomit before going to the ER, we discovered a rubber band that she had ingested. Friday 3/21, we were in the animal ER from 11am-6pm, after multiple tests and X-rays and sedation, her bill came to $793. She was sent home with an anti-nausea shot and the doctor assigned a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice. This morning, 4/24, she began vomiting again over and over and the emergency line told us to bring her in right away. She got another round of X-Rays and we were told she may or may not need surgery, and that she needed to be kept overnight on an IV. Today’s bill was $5046. Needless to say, this saga has cleared my checking and savings accounts. In the case she needs surgery, I would be unable to pay those expenses.
