With hopeful news, Smokey may be able to come home soon. Smokey is my son's cat, 10 years old. He became very ill Wednesday night. He started crying out, lying on his side in severe pain. Throwing up bile over and over. As we know, it is difficult to get emergency services for our fur babies here in Rochester. Thankfully Smokeys vet at Brockport took him in and ran some tests, started IV fluids His temperature was very low and he was very dehydrated. My son had to make a difficult decision at this time because the office was closing for the night. He took Smokey home, it was a rough night for both of them! The next morning they went back to Brockport vet for more iv fluids and a heated tent to try to bring his temperature up. As they were closing again for the day, another decision was to be made. They recommended he drive to Orchard Park in Buffalo. Smokey has been there since yesterday getting test after test. He is perking up, more energy for sure. Thankfully!! He was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Poor baby! He is on a feeding tube, medication, and pain medication. Hopefully to go home in tbe next few says. I am reaching out for support to our friends and community to see if we can raise some money to help pay Smokeys vet bills. Thank you !
