Emergency Vet Care for Fifi – Please Help Save My Boy
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sharmin, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for help.
Fifi is my 3-year-old cat and the love of my life. He has been with me for 2.5 years — not just as a pet, but as my emotional support, my companion, and my family. He follows me from room to room, sleeps curled beside me every night, and brings light into my life in ways no one else ever has.
A few weeks ago, Fifi suddenly fell critically ill. He stopped eating, became lethargic, and began vomiting. I rushed him to the emergency hospital where he was kept under intensive care. After a series of tests, an ultrasound, and a biopsy under general anesthesia, he was finally diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) — a chronic, painful gastrointestinal condition that requires lifelong management and close medical monitoring.
Fifi’s condition is serious and unpredictable. He has now been hospitalized twice in three weeks, with each episode requiring urgent intervention, fluids, medication, imaging, and testing. His care team is working hard to stabilize him, and I’m doing everything possible to keep him comfortable and safe at home between flares.
But the cost of saving Fifi’s life has been enormous.
His medical bills so far are $17,798 CAD — including his most recent emergency hospitalization of $5,764. I have already borrowed $7,000 from friends just to keep up. As a full-time PhD student living alone in Canada without family support, I am financially and emotionally stretched beyond capacity.
Fifi is the gentlest soul I’ve ever known. He saved me during the darkest chapters of my life. Now, I am trying to save him.
If you are able, please consider donating to Fifi’s fundraiser. Every single dollar helps — even $5 makes a difference.
And if you can’t donate, please share this with someone who might. Your kindness means the world.
Fifi is fighting hard. I’m fighting with him.
But we can’t do this alone.
Please help us.
