Update: on 7/19 at 9:20am Dolly passed away peacefully in our arms at the vet. Though we could never bring her back home. We are now stuck with all the debt of trying to save her. And all the money could have not saved her. Please keep sharing and pray for our families strength in this time. All donations contributed to this will help get rid of the debt on our vet care credit card that we also use for her brother Banjo who has health issues due to his allergies. With out that card having a clean slate and paid off we can not afford to also take care of his vet needs that he desperately needs.
My name is Katie. Me and my husband Kendall came home from going down the road today to our beloved Dolly dog laid out and not responding when we got back. I knew instantly it was a heat stroke. We immediately took action and got her to the emergency vet. Due to her being a brachial breed of dog, she, in that short amount of time, even with water and shade, had this heat stroke.
We maxed out our CareCredit card with $2000 for her to be seen and get emergency help. But now we are being told it looks like she will need to be at the emergency vet for at least two days and possibly have a plasma transfer on top of other medical needs. The vet now has another $6,973 they had us pay to cover this.
This has left me and Kendall completely out of money and now having two different cards getting us for interest payments for a long while. With our other dog Banjo, who already has a large number of health issues, we have to get that CareCredit card paid off quickly in case another emergency with him comes up. And the possibility of Dolly having any further issues down the road for this.
Please also send all the prayers her way. She is not out of the dark yet.
