My mom's name is Melissa. She's 52 and lives alone with her dog. Earlier today, she had maintenance people come in because they needed to look at the window. She let them know not to come in while her dog was out. She rushed home to be there with Dagger. After they got there, she let them know she needed to go back to work, and he would be in the bathroom, and to not let him out when they were done.

At about 3:30 pm, they texted her while she was at work and stated everything was good; they put stuff back where it was supposed to be. Somewhere between 3:30 and 7 pm, everything went down. These maintenance men let Dagger out of the bathroom to free roam, didn't put anything back to where it was supposed to be, and left the blinds wide open. My mom came home from work, and blood was everywhere, and the window was broken. Dagger had jumped up on the window (assuming he saw another dog and got excited) and broke the glass. He then got his paws all cut up. Immediately, my mom called the office and let them know what was going on. They stated that somebody had reported the broken glass, but they just stated it'll have to be a problem for tomorrow... (WOW JUST WOW). They also told her that the window being broken and the situation was not an emergency. Absolutely unacceptable and so unprofessional. My mom has not even lived here for a week. THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT TAKING THIS SITUATION SERIOUSLY AND THEY SHOULD PAY 1000%. She has brought him to the emergency vet, and they quoted $3k to fix him up. I was urged to make a GoFundMe to help support my mom and get her some legal help with this. I cannot disclose the apartment complex at this time. Anything helps! I let my mom know that I'd help her set this up so we can get her story out and get her support that she could very well use.
