Our cat Casper had to be rushed to the vet after repeated vomiting, refusing food, lethargy, and discomfort. The vet determined that he is dealing with a urinary obstruction, which is a serious emergency in male cats and needs immediate treatment.

Casper is currently receiving care that includes hospitalization, IV fluids, bloodwork, urinalysis, imaging, sedation, and urinary catheter placement to relieve the blockage. The current estimate is between $2,089.99 and $2,612.49, but we’ve been told the cost may increase depending on how he responds, whether he needs additional monitoring, and if complications come up. With the 24-48hour hospital stay and monitoring that will add an additional $3000-$3850.

We’re setting the goal at $6150 to help cover the emergency treatment, possible added hospitalization, medications, follow-up care, and any prescription diet he may need afterward to prevent this from happening again.
