Emergency Vet Care for Buddy the Puppy
Donation protected
In 2011 Jake and his sister got a family dog they named Colby. For the past 10 years Colby has been a HUGE part of their lives. Jake lost his sister four years ago yesterday, November 26th. When Melissa passed away Jake kept Colby full time as his own. When Colby became very ill this last summer, Jake and Cindy Jo knew they wanted to breed their two yellow labs, Colby and Kona one last time, to keep a puppy to carry on Jakes connection to his sister. The litter was born July 15th. Lake, their 2 year old daughter, played with the puppies every day and picked out the pup for them to keep as her forever best friend. A sweet light colored yellow lab that she herself named BUDDY! They truly are best friends and she loves bringing him with on four wheeler rides and chasing him around the yard. Yesterday evening Cindy Jo let the dogs out to go potty and no more than a few minutes later a mailman came flying up with driveway at wreckless speeds hitting poor Buddy and leaving him to lay injured and fighting for his life. Cindy Jo, who was home at the time unfortunately watched the incident happen and poor Lake saw her best friend laying in the driveway. The mailman was nothing short of rude and careless and left saying he was already late on his route and needed to leave and wasn’t going to offer any help after admitting to driving way to fast and hitting the dog. Thankfully Cindy Jo and her family/friend were able to jump into action and get buddy rushed to Blue Pearl in Blaine. Poor Buddy is VERY banged up with broken front and rear right legs, a shattered scapula, bruised and bleeding lungs and small fractures in his spine! The accident is under investigation and law enforcement is involved due to reasons that will be released as things progress legally. This is not just a dog, not just a pet and most definitely not an animal that is replaceable with the sentimental value and connection to Jakes sister. This is why they are taking EVERY single avenue they can to save sweet Buddy. His first nights stay and services at Blue Pearl alone were $4,000 with a surgery on Monday estimated to bring the bill up another $15,000. You can not put a price on an animal you have truly made a deep connection with. Jake and Cindy Jo are beyond thankful for any contribution wether financial or prayers for Buddy and themselves as they sit and pray for recovery for him. Also for his mama Kona who has been lost without her sweet boy and just sits where he was hit. Anything helps as they navigate this devastating event. Keep Buddy and the family in your prayers.
