Kalepp Family's Emergency Vet Bills for Two Dogs

Donation protected
Please consider helping the Kalepp Family as they're face with an unexpected vet bill as a result of their TWO german sheppards being shot by a stranger and left with life threatening injuries.

The morning started off normal for Tracey and Tami, as they prepared to celebrate christmas with their grandchildren. At about 8:15, Tracey let the dogs out into their yard in the country. A few minutes later, he heard gunshots. Again they live in the country so that’s not abnormal but this time when he went outside to grab both dogs and saw Belli sitting on our back porch, covered with blood, and no Kota. Belli was rushed to the vet where she remains in critical care. The vets confirmed it was a gunshot wound. Tracey remained home during the vet visit searching for hours and hours for Kota. Fourtunately their incredible family, friend and community came out to help in the search. After 4 o’clock, 7 1/2 later, someone finally called, they had found her. Kota was found in a nearby field, in a ball, in the cold, with a gunshot wound to her lung, clinging to life. Kota was immediately put in the car and rushed her to a separate emergency vet hospital where she also remains critical and waiting further surgery. This family woke up this morning to celebrate Christmas, and now has both of their dogs in two separate emergency vet hospitals, fighting for their lives.

The vets say the recovery for Belli is going to be extensive and likely months before she’s back to normal. As always there is continued care and here’s a huge risk of fatal infection. As for Kota, she’s an older gal just celebrating her 8th birthday on Christmas day, and still not much news from the vets as they actively fight to stabalize her enough for life saving procedures.

On behalf of the Kalepp family, we’re reaching out once again for help from family, friends and community as the vet bills are already reaching over $15,000. The cost is astronomical, but Tracey and Tami would do anything for our girls to come through this trauma alive.

Thank you again for the consideration, the volunterring and the prayers through this heartbreaking tragedy.
