Emergency Vet Bills for Maggie
Donation protected
Hi there
This beautiful little pup in the photo is Maggie (aka: Maggie May, Maggo or Booper). For much of my life I struggled with my mental health and in October of 2018, I picked this little baby up from a farm outside of Quebec. The last one left, the runt of her litter and probably the spiciest of them all.
Maggie is my emotional support animal, a best friend to many and without a doubt, saved my life.
She is a 3 1/2 year old golden retriever mix. She is a high drive dog who loves her ball, freestyle obedience, walking on the beach and being outside in the fresh air. She is always on the go and if you’ve met her, you’ll remember her as the dog who loves to sing when she greets you.
On Christmas Eve, Maggie began sleeping all day and going up to bed alone. This quickly progressed into becoming lethargic, dizzy and disoriented. On December 27th she was unable to catch a ball due to her lack of spatial awareness, she started to walk funny and would fall asleep while sitting up. That evening we spent 12 hours in the Halifax Emergency Vet Clinic where they exhausted their efforts and tests available within Nova Scotia
On December 28th maggie began having barking fits, forgetting where she was and who I was, running in circles terrified, lost and confused.
Maggie was quickly referred to the PEI Veterinary College where they are able to do more tests. They have informed us that these signs could possibly be cancer, inflammation or infection in the brain or a tumour. These tests require her to stay overnight to have radiographs, CT’s, urine samples and an MRI completed. These tests will help to determine what exactly is wrong with Maggie and how we can best help her.
I am asking on Maggie’s behalf for a donation of any amount to help with the cost, so that this beautiful, loving pup can run on the beach again, catch her ball and of course, receive all of the cuddles.
Your donation will go towards:
Gas to and from NS to PEI
PEI Bridge fees
CT scan
Chest radiographs
Bloodwork
Urinalyses
MRI - (Aprox $5000.00)
Maggie is currently receiving treatment and they have started further testing. Your donation is needed for these bills within the upcoming week.
We thank you in advance for your donation and will keep you updated on her status and diagnosis
